New to the Ninja Creami?

Three steps and one night in the freezer. This is the whole method, before any of the fixes further down.

  1. 1

    Mix

Whisk your base completely smooth: your milk, your flavour, and 1 to 2 tablespoons of pudding mix as the stabilizer. Dry pockets left in the base are what turn into chalk later.

  2. 2

    Freeze

Fill to the pint's fill line, sit it flat, and leave it a full 24 hours. A base frozen hard on top but soft underneath spins unevenly every single time.

  3. 3

    Spin

Run the program that matches your base, once. If it comes out crumbly, Re-Spin with a splash of milk. Crumbly on the first pass is normal, not a failure.

Try the Bases Behind Every Fix

Every guide and fix here starts with one of three bases. Protein Pudding Mix (20g protein per box, 5g per serving, dairy) for high-protein ice cream and frozen yogurt. Instant Puddings (sugar-free, plant-based) for classic creamy pints without the dairy. Jel Desserts (sugar-free, plant-based) for smooth, jewel-toned sorbet. Pick whichever fits tonight's spin.

Straight Answers

Ninja Creami Questions, Answered

The six things people ask most before they ask anything else.

How long does a Ninja Creami base need to freeze?

A full 24 hours, sitting flat and undisturbed. A base that is solid on top but still soft underneath processes unevenly, and that is the single most common reason a first spin comes out crumbly. Freezing it flat also protects the blade from an off-balance start. Freezing and storage guide

Can you refreeze a Ninja Creami pint?

Yes. Leftovers refreeze fine, but the second freeze always sets harder than the first: that first spin whipped air into the base, and refreezing collapses the air back out so the water sets into a denser block. Re-Spin with a splash of milk before you serve it. The re-freeze guide

How much pudding mix goes in one pint?

About 1 to 2 tablespoons per pint of base, whisked in fully before it goes into the freezer. More than roughly 2 tablespoons over-thickens the base and can turn it gummy once processed. The full dosing guide

Can you put pudding mix in a Ninja Creami?

You can, and it is the easiest way to stop a pint freezing icy. The starch binds the free water in your base so it cannot form large crystals. Simply Desserts Protein Pudding Mix does the same job and adds 5g of protein per serving of mix, 20g per box. It is a dairy mix, built on milk protein, so it is not vegan. Why it works

Why did my Creami come out crumbly or powdery?

The base was either under-frozen or under-stabilized, so the blade shaved it into powder instead of shearing it smooth. Re-Spin with a tablespoon or two of milk and it will almost always come back. Then fix the base for next time. Fix a crumbly pint

When do you add mix-ins?

After the first spin, never before. Get the texture right first, Re-Spin if you need to, then dig a small well in the middle of the pint, drop your chunks in and run the Mix-In program. Texture problems are a Re-Spin job and add-ins are a Mix-In job, always in that order. Mix-ins timing
